The TREN MAYA is a 1,525-kilometer intercity railway in Mexico that will traverse the Yucatán Peninsula. The construction began in June 2020 and the commissioning of the railway is scheduled for next year.
CONSTRUCCIONES URALES, part of GRUPO AZVI, is a service provider company working in the construction sector in Mexico. They recently finished the installation of 220 km of track (60 km of double track and 100 km of single track) on Section 3 of the TREN MAYA, which connects Calkiní and Izamal in Mexico.
The ACIMEX Concrete Sleeper Grab range has been designed to facilitate, optimize and secure the work of the operators when they lay concrete sleepers on the track bed.
In the “traditional way”, sleepers are handled by several operators and lifted with chains and hooks. ACIMEX lifting grabs significantly reduce the number of operators and the risk of accidents while increasing productivity.
The Hydraulic grab supplied for the TREN MAYA is able to lift and lay 6 sleepers at one time with the correct distance between the sleepers for laying onto the track bed.
The ACIMEX Concrete Sleeper Grab range also contains a vacuum version of the sleeper grab for handling sleepers with an outer shell, in order not to damage the rubber/plastic shell.
